Robbie Keane is back at Spurs after completing a move away from Liverpool on the last official day of the transfer window.
It’s understood that Tottenham have paid around £15 million for the player who left London six months ago for a shade over £20 million.
Keane, who was left out of Liverpool’s squad for the weekend victory over Chelsea, scored 5 times in 19 games.
Meanwhile it looks as if the stop – start move of Andrei Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg to Arsenal is to go through after all. A fee has been agreed as have personal terms though there remains a stumbling block with the Russian club demanding a percentage of the player’s signing on fee.
In other deals, Everton have signed Jo from Manchester City on loan for the rest of the season, Wigan have paid Newcastle £6 million for Charles N’Zogbia following his spat with Toon boss Joe Kinnear, Olivier Dacourt has joined Fulham on loan from Inter Milan and Portsmouth have signed Greece’s Euro 2004-winning midfielder Angelos Basinas from AEK Athens on an 18-month deal.
For club’s still waiting to complete deals, the Premier League has agreed to extend the transfer deadline due to the bad weather in the UK.
The League said it would need e-mail confirmation from both teams to prove a deal had been agreed in principle.
It also needed to be satisfied that it was the weather that had prevented the transfer being completed.
