Kaka – £60 million to Madrid

Real Madrid are reportedly putting together a £60 million bid for Kaka.

Here at Footy-Boots HQ, we rarely publish transfer speculation, as all the UK tabloids do a very good job of stirring together some news. However, one transfer that seems to be kicking up a bit of steam overseas and is being neglected back in the ‘sunny United Kingdom’ is that of the Brazilian Kaka.

Kaka is being recognised now as one of the leading footballers in the world, and with that tag, comes the inevitable stories linking the player with Real Madrid. So of course you wouldn’t want to bank on the deal going through, but several reports have suggested that Madrid are willing to pay a record sum for the gifted player.

Kaka’s Football Boots

Kaka football bootsShould Milan decide to cash in on Kaka, before his contract expires in 2011, Kaka will be taking his Adidas Predator Absolute football boots with him.

Kaka is one of the Adidas main figure heads behind David Beckham, but with a high profile move to Real Madrid could be of greater value to Adidas.

Should the deal go through, it would break the previous transfer record paid out by… you guessed it, Real Madrid – £50 million for Zinedine Zidane, from Juventus back in 2001.

To be fair, he is undoubtedly one of the top players in the world, but…. Is he really worth £60 million pounds??

You only have to look at this thoroughly, cristiano ronaldo was bought by Man Utd, for hardly anything, and look how he has come on as a player!

Real Madrid would benefit so much more from doing something along these lines, picking up youngsters, that in a few years time will be amongst the best in the world.

Far Too Much for Kaka in my eyes, £60 Million pounds is a lot of money, and to be fair, I cant see how one person will make so much difference to madrids team, they need a at least 3-4 new signings!

Well keil, I have to agree with you. He is one of the top players in the world in my book, but I would rate him as a 40-45 million pound player. Reason being: Kaka is already 27 and therefore may continue playing really well at top level for probably 5 or 6 more years (maybe longer if he takes care of himself and doesn’t suffer too many injuries.

With respect to Real Madrid and the club’s insatiable lust for the superstars of the world game – I think that is a key reason why their youth program (world renowned as it is) continues to suffer. As they continue importing more and more world class players, the younger guys in the team are being stifled.

While Juande Ramos gave the younger players a chance when he could afford to, I fear that if Kaka, Xabi Alonso, David Villa and Cristiano Ronaldo are brought into the club (as senor Perez insists he will do), it could mean the beginning of the end for guys like Saviola, Gago, Huntelaar and Higuain.

All the speculation surrounding Real’s new president and his “BIG” decisions brings to memory the days of a poorly organised squad (including several of the then greatest players in the world – Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane, Beckham, Raul, Roberto Carlos, Hierro, Helguera) that failed, albeit miserably, to win any silverware for 3 consecutive seasons.

And while it is astonishing that Real continues to have the financial ability to woo these players even in the present economic times I do believe we could see another even less successful “Galactico” era.

I hope that Real makes whatever decisions they see fit to make and are able to live with the consequences afterwards, because I don’t think they’re going to have it any easier come next season from their Treble winning rivals; Galacticos or no Galacticos.

*By the way has anyone heard of Real looking for new defenders??? Just asking…

real must just have a bottomless pit of money, there is no way AC Milan would sell him, they have named him the face of the club and have made a new contract till 2011 so real should just go buy robben or somtinh
