Kaka’s Football Boot Switch Leaves Us Puzzled
Update December ’07: New article on Kaka’s football boots – Adidas AdiPURE
The friendly between England and Brazil last week ended in a draw, but the talking point for football boot fans was the sight of Brazilian maestro Kaka NOT wearing the new football boots that have been specifically promoted as being “Kaka’s Football Boots“! Kaka left his Adidas Predator Champions League football boots (£120) in his boot bag, preferring to wear the rather more modest Adidas World Cup, which retail for approx £70.
It has been suggested that the poor condition of the new Wembley turf led Kaka to drop his new football boots, which he wore in the Champions League Final, for the World Cups, which is seen as a football boot more suited to soft ground. This is perhaps more an indication that Kaka felt that the new Predator football boot needs more work and development before it gives him the protection, stability and power he requires on a soft surfaces. Overall the decision to switch football boots in such a high profile game tells its own story, and we await the official word from Adidas on why the change occurred.
Was Kaka wearing Adidas AdiPURE ?
One last rumour that is worth a minor mention is talk of this being the first airing of the new Adidas AdiPURE football boots, albeit in a disguised and amended form. Not much is known of the new generation of football boots due for release from Adidas next year, as Adidas has still plenty of releases left for this year, like the new 7406, Tunit Champions Leagues, new Tunit F50.8 and the new Predators, as well as all the new colourways! But it is unlikely even Kaka would have have been given a prototype in such a high profile game, so it looks like we’ll have to keep waiting until we get a glimpse of the Adidas AdiPURE for real!!
Which would you choose?
Order the Adidas Predator Absolute Champions League football boots.
Order the Adidas World Cup Football Boots
I’d prefer him wearing Predators, but yeah those retro boot series have been famous for it’s comfort.
Adidas should’ve dig deeper in order to create the perfect football boots there….
Not surprised. World Cups and Copa Mundials are still the best boot made. Nickey Shorey was also wearing similar boots in that game.
aww man u guys got me waitin all the way till next year and i cant wait!!!

I was sat front row during the game and saw first hand that Kaka was wearing the Adidas World Cup. The outsole and upper were that of the traditional heritage classic. Adidas would have wanted him in the new predator for sure considering the signifcance of the fixture.
i prefere mercurial one
