Jermaine Easter has continued his incredible record of scoring in every round of the Carling Cup.
Jermaine Easter, last night hit a dramatic equaliser for League Two side Wycombe, against mighty Chelsea in the semi final first leg clash between the two sides at Adams Park.
Against a £235 million Chelsea squad, Wycombe in contrast, fielded a side in which the only player that cost them anything was Jermaine Easter, at £80,000. That £80,000 is less than some of the Chelsea superstars earn in a week!
Jermaine Easter raced on to a Tommy Mooney flick-on, used his strength to hold off Essien and then expertly beat keeper Hilario to wipe out Wayne Bridge’s first-half opener.
Wycombe should take heart from this result when they travel to Stamford Bridge in two weeks’ time. They still have an outside chance of an unlikely final place.
Arsenal will face north London rival Tottenham at White Hart Lane for the other first-leg semi final on Jan. 24, with the return leg set for the Emirates Stadium on Jan. 31.
The final is at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Feb. 25.
