ITV have agreed a deal with the Setanta to show highlights of the remaining England away fixtures in the World Cup qualifying campaign.
It has been confirmed that the remaining England World Cup qualifiers for the away ties against Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine will be shown exclusively live on Setanta, with highlights to follow on ITV1 at 10.30pm.
Prior to the Croatia game, England fans without Setanta looked likely to miss being able to see their national team play, but Setanta stood down and arranged for free highlights to be shown on their channel and sold ITV the rights to show England’s 4-1 win the following day.
Setanta’s director of sport, Trevor East, said:
We took no pleasure out of being unable to agree a deal but we didn’t want to be held to ransom. We’re pleased that the situation has been resolved.
