Inter Milan have revealed that they are hopeful of signing Chelsea pair Ricardo Carvalho and Deco this summer. Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen of securing the services of the two players that were part of his 2004 Champions League winning Porto side.

Inter president Massimo Moratti has revealed that talks are already under way between the two clubs to give the deal the best possible chance of going ahead. He said that ‘Mourinho asked for Deco and Carvalho and we are working towards making him happy’.
Moratti went on to say that ‘our wish is to sign both players’ and that both of their ‘intention is to join us’. As for how close a deal is to being finalised, Moratti said that is should be sorted ‘in a short time’.
Should this be the case, Moratti believes that Inter Milan would have signed two very capable players who will add plenty of experience to the squad. He says that Carvalho ‘is calm under pressure and will bring experience in the defensive line’.
As for Deco, Moratti says that he has two roles once he joins Inter – ‘to do well immediately and to help Brazilian player Philippe Coutinho mature as a player’. Overall, it is clear that Moratti is confident the deals will go ahead and that the players will succeed in the Serie A.
Deals to see these two players leave the club probably makes good sense for Chelsea as well. Carvalho only made 18 appearances last season as he was dogged by injury throughout. Deco also made limited appearances after he fell from favour following his £8m move from Barcelona last summer.
New Chelsea boss Carlos Ancelotti' may well be happy to let these two go and bring in replacements that' are not only younger, but that will suit the way he wants Chelsea to play their football.
Deco never plays for chelsea anyway
