After dabbling in a patriotic White / Blue / Red combo, the Netherlands return to their deadly Black and Orange as Nike present the Holland Away Shirt for Euro 2012!
A mixture of a stylish all-black look and authoritative sharp lines, the new Euro 2012 Holland Away Shirt is inspired by flair and on-pitch dominance that the Dutch possess when they play at their best.
Having a seriously deadly array of attacking options in the likes of Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie, we’d definitely say the only way they could look any more lethal is in a fearsome kit like this!
Inside the neck is the graphic “Nieuwe Meesters” (New Masters) which pays homage to the creativity and craft of the renowned Dutch artists of the 17th century, including Rembrandt and Vermeer, while also celebrating the current Dutch side, a talented and vibrant group of players who have the potential to make their own history.
Teaming the latest Holland Away Shirt with black shorts and socks will give the Dutch an understated aesthetic when playing in Poland and Ukraine; the perfect contrast to their famous, bold ‘Oranje’ home kit.
In line with Nike’s commitment eco-friendly run of kits, the fabric of the Holland Away kit’s shorts is made with 100% recycled polyester, while the fabric of the shirts is made with at least 96% recycled polyester; subsequently, each kit is made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles.
Embedded with Nike Dri-FIT technology, the kits help to regulate players temperatures on the pitch by removing sweat from the body to keep them dry and cool faster than ever before, whilst laser-cut ventilation on the shirt promotes localised cooling where athletes need it most to remain focused on the game.
A new double knit structure and yarns also makes this kit 20% stronger, with no compromise to fit and feel with natural cotton added for comfort whilst being 23% lighter than the Nike kits of four years ago.
To be worn by the Dutch when they play England in a Friendly at Wembley on Wednesday 29th February, the Holland Away Shirt for Euro 2012 will be available to pre-order from 24/2/2012.
