Former Japan captain’s old Tiempo Legends Raise a huge sum at auction

A Pair of White/Royal Blue Nike Tiempo Legend I’s worn by Nakata against Croatia at the 2006 World Cup were auctioned online to raise money for relief for earthquake-torn Haiti. Japan drew that match 0-0, and it turned out to be the penultimate match in Nakata’s illustrious career, as he announced his retirement when Japan were beaten 4-1 by Brazil in the last of their group games.

Nakata faces off against AC Milan in his Perugia days

Fans across the world remember Nakata’s career fondly for his intense work ethic and fierce shots; the 2-time Asian Football Confederation Player of the Year played for Perugia, AS Roma, Parma, Bologna & Fiorentina in Serie A and even had a loan stint with Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League.

    Hi marticillo – You could be right, as that picture’s not the best, but from other pictures you can see he was a lover of FILA boots…for some reason!!
