GERRARD OUT OF GERMANY CLASH

Steven GerrardSteven Gerrard is the latest player to pull out of the England squad ahead of the midweek friendly against Germany.

The Liverpool captain, who played and scored in the win over Bolton on Saturday, has picked up a leg muscle injury and could be out of action for a week to ten days.

Gerrard joins Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney on the sidelines along with Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart who has an ankle injury. He’s been replaced in the squad by Paul Robinson.

England captain John Terry is also a doubt having picked up a knock in Chelsea’s 3 – 0 win at West Brom.

Reports suggest that Terry could feature but if not, there could be a debut for Fabio Capello’s surprise call -up, Michael Mancienne, Terry’s club colleague who’s currently on loan at Wolves.
