Manchester United have named club captain Gary Neville in their first team squad for the first time in over a year.
The 33 year old has overcome a long standing ankle problem and is line to make an appearance against Middlesbrough.
Neville recently completed a full game for the reserves against Newcastle United under the watchful eye of manager Sir Alex Ferguson who said;
It has been a long road back for Gary.
It is not easy at his age but his enthusiasm for the game and his determination to get back gives you the most encouragement about him.
I think he will figure in some games this season. His personality and experience will help us.
