FULHAM RELEASE EIGHT

Fulham badgeFulham manager Roy Hodgson has paved the way for a major clear out from the London club after releasing eight players from his first team squad.

Hodgson, who guided his team to a last day Premier League reprieve on the final day of the season, is getting rid of USA skipper Carlos Bocanegra and Finnish veteran Jari Litmanen along with Philippe Christanval, Simon Elliott, Ian Pearce, Michael Timlin, Ismael Ehui, and Bjorn Runstrom.

Litmanen joined the club in January but injury prevented him from making a first team appearance.

In addition, Fulham have confirmed that Paul Stalteri has returned to Tottenham Hotspur following the end of his loan spell.

The departures follow the signing of Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer earlier this week.
