FANS TO DESIGN CARLING CUP FINAL BOARDS

Carling is handing over a third of its pitch-side advertising for fans to create their own personalised banners at next weekend’s showpiece final.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur fans have the chance to design 100 different digital perimeter boards to take pride of place at Wembley as the Carling Cup Final goes interactive.

Supporters will be able to create their personalised banners at the Carling website with the best 100 featured inside the stadium during the game. In addition, one banner from a fan of each club will also be put on display in the players’ dressing rooms on the day of the Carling Cup Final.

Fans interested in submitting their own design can go to www.carling.com/banners

The boards, which have an advertising value of £60,000, will be on display for 32 of the 90 minutes in two minute bursts.

Carling Brand Director Martin Coyle said:

beckham-la-galaxy-stay We believe the people who have supported their team throughout the competition should have the right to play an important part in the final. We use every Carling Cup Final as an opportunity to find new ways of helping fans to make a difference and this year’s will be our most interactive yet.

Traditionally, banners and flags have been a big part of the magic of a cup final and we hope that by giving fans this platform to get together behind their team, their players, their mates or their local, we can help both sets of supporters play a much bigger part in what promises to be a great occasion.

Football League Head of Communications John Nagle said:

beckham-la-galaxy-stay We’re always happy to support initiatives like this which get the fans more involved and we look forward to a great response from both sets of supporters.
