ENGLAND SQUAD FOR KAZAKHSTAN AND BELARUS

Fabio Capello recalls Shaun Wright-Phillips and Peter Crouch, but there’s still no shirt for Michael Owen.

ENGLAND SQUAD KAZAKHSTAN BELARUSFabio Capello has recalled little and large, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Peter Crouch, but it seems the writing is on the wall as far as Michael Owen’s England career is concerned.

Fabio Capello’s sqaud for the two world cup qualifiers agaisnt Kazakhstand and Belarus has four changes from his last 23-man squad.

As well as the return of Wright-Phillips and Crouch, Steven Gerrard and West Brom’s Scott Carson are back.

Missing since the last squad are the injured Paul Robinson and Joe Cole, whilst David Bentley and Fulham’s Jimmy Bullard have been dropped.

Owen, 28, has seen his record of 40 goals in 89 appearances for England do little to convince Capello that he can still do the business. Neither have the three goals in four games for Newcastle this season.

Squad in full:

Goalkeepers: James (Portsmouth), Green (West Ham), Carson (West Brom)

offerStrikers: Heskey (Wigan), Crouch (Portsmouth), Rooney (Manchester United), Defoe (Portsmouth)
