Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will be missing from Chelsea’s ranks when the Blues kick off their Premier league season against Portsmouth on August 17th.
New Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that the Ivory Coast striker is still battling to reach full fitness after spending the summer recovering from a serious knee injury.
“Didier will not play in our first game and will probably miss the second against Wigan,” said Scolari.
“If there are no more problems he should be ready for the game after that, Tottenham on 31st August.”
