After making an explosive debut on the feet of Antonio Cassano earlier this season, Diadora are starting the new season with a new colourway for their feature-packed new' football boots – the Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite!
After launching in a eye-meltingly bold Fluo Yellow colourway with black branding, Diadora have swapped over the colours for the second DD Eleven colourway, giving the' Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite an understated, deadly look.
Whilst there’s plenty of bold colour on the upper and heel counter to stop it looking dull, the Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite‘s mostly-black upper has a really classic aesthetic, that harkens back to the days of Italian football in the mid-90’s where Diadora and Lotto would often produce black football boots with neon branding.
The black upper of the' Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite also shows off the softness of the leather in ways that the launch colourway never could.
Definitely a good thing, given the Diadora brand’s legacy of using top-notch K-leather on their premium-level football boots.
The CTR360-esque control pods on the upper are also enhanced by the dark colourway, not only giving an added focus to the intricacy of their honey-comb design, but also demonstrating the tactile usage of the shiny adhesive coating called ‘Touch Control Technology’ in these areas that improves ball control in bad conditions.
Diadora’s new ‘Net Breathing System’ also gets some serious exposure on the upper of the Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite, being mentioned twice in bold red writing, once on the tongue and again on the heel counter.
Whilst definitely a touch excessive, the Italian brand have every right to be proud of their new technology which miraculously manages to allow heat and moisture to escape the bottom of these football boots, whilst keeping water and debris out!
And that’s not to say that these are the only features that the Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite has up it’s proverbial sleeve!
Diadora have put years of research and development to bring out one of the most technology-packed football boots in the marketplace at the moment.
Firstly, Diadora Axel technology is a thread of Steel Alloy that runs under the spine„of the foot. Like the Carbon Fibre in a Nike Elite Series boot or the PowerSpine in the new adidas Predator adiPower, it is designed to enforce the foot in key areas when striking and reduce unwanted flex.
Then the FlexRotax stud configuration uses specially-shaped studs to ensure that any unwanted bio-mechanical stress caused by the rigours of the beautiful game is distributed around the feet, rather than potentially damaging the knees and metatarsals.
The' Diadora DD Eleven K – Black/Yellow Fluorite has already launched in Japan, but fans of the Italian brand around the world can look forward to seeing these awesome football boots in Europe and the US by the end of the month, with a price-tag of around £140/$200.
