Already enduring their worst start to a season ever, Tottenham have received more bad news after the FA decided to charge Michael Dawson with improper conduct.
The charge relates to the defender’s reaction after he was sent off for a dangerous tackle in the 2 – 1 defeat away to Stoke on Sunday.
It’s possible that Dawson could be banned for a further 2 games if found guilty, on top of the automatic 3 match ban that comes with a straight red card.
He has until 6pm tonight to appeal.
Dawson was the second Spurs player to be dismissed during the game, Gareth Bale had gone before, and the London club’s misery was complete on the day with injuries to other key players.
They currently sit bottom of the Premier League with a miserly 2 points from their first 8 games.
Their next match is in the Uefa Cup, away to Italian side Udinese.
