CR7 AND THE LAUNCH OF THE SAFARI SUPERFLY

As far as football boots launches go, the launch of the new Cristiano Ronaldo Nike Safari one was a little more low-key than some of those that have gone before – for example, there were no invasions of major London landmarks this time, and there were no Formula 1 cars.

Nonetheless, Nike made sure that the Real Madrid megastar was presented with his new football boots in style, as they handed over the new CR7 Superfly II Safari to the man himself yesterday at a special event in Madrid.

After a couple of viral videos to hype up the arrival (showing the boots leaving Nike HQ in Portland, Oregon and touching down in the Spanish Capital), Nike gathered their top personnel and some select media in a small location to watch as Cristiano Ronaldo became the first person to officially unbox the new CR7 Superfly II Safari.

It’s worth pointing out at this point that Nike weren’t going to give their highest earning endorsee a plain orange retail box – Nosiree! Ronaldo took to the stage to find a space-age podium under the spotlight that revealed the boots when he pressed down on it to release them – classy!

Ronaldo himself seemed to be impressed with his new signature football boots saying, “I’ve been part of Nike many years, and now they’re doing specific boots for me – of course I’m very happy – and proud – about that”

The boots are being marketed under the tagline “Designed to the exact specifications of Cristiano Ronaldo”, and Ronaldo said it wasn’t easy to make the Cristiano Ronaldo Nike Safari the best they can be, describing it as a “pressure” when asked to change a few things about the boots.

Cristiano also pointed out how important having the right football boots is to him personally “Guys who drive, they want things like the wheels to be different [for their style], this is just the same! I do a few changes [to the boots], because I feel more comfortable”

As for CR7’s final verdict on his new signature line of cleats? œThe CR Mercurial Vapor SuperFly II makes a statement on pitch and the Safari print expresses my style, combined with incredibly light and responsive performance the boot gives me everything I need to elevate my game. high praise indeed – if a little PR friendly, “I love this boot, it’s amazing – I’m looking forward to scoring many goals in this boot”

They look just white from a fair distance away.

Like I said, Messi has his own colourway, why shouldn’t ronnie?

The three digit identifier, mine would be ET9 ^.^

I think these look decent, alot of people have been complaining about Nike re-using colors, so they cant complain about these being unoriginal. Also, i was wondering if they were going to release them as a limited edition boot or for retail, also will they be sold in vapors?

if its to ronaldos specification then why is the soleplate not mixed studs like what he uses? my backside these are limited, more like a money spinner. nike are a powerful corporation who knows how to work the market. wait till march when another boot with another “shocking” colour comes out. nike have to 1st ask themselves why performance wise is adidas doing so well that players around the world have dumped nike boots for adidas
