For the fourth time in the last five years, all of England’s Champions League entrants have reached the last 16 of Europe’s top-tier club competition. Here’s who they will be facing in the knock-out rounds.
AS Roma v Shakhtar Donetsk
AC Milan v Tottenham Hotspur
Valencia v Schalke
Inter Milan v Bayern Munich
Lyon v Real Madrid
Arsenal v Barcelona
Marseille v Manchester United
FC Copenhagen v Chelsea
Arsenal
Arsenal have been punished for coming second in their group with favourites Barcelona their opposition. Barcelona eased passed Arsenal in last year competition and will be clear favourites to do the same again.
Chelsea
Chelsea will be comfortable with their draw. FC Copenhagen qualified for the last 16 for the first time in their history and were widely regarded as the easiest opponent in the last 16.
Manchester United
Despite beating Chelsea in the final round of group matches, Marseille was a kind draw for United. Didier Deschamps will look forward to pitting his wits against Sir Alex, but the ‘Water Carrier’ will know the chances of victory are slim at best.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham challenge five time European champions AC Milan. Milan were seen as the team to avoid. However, the San Siro holds no fear for Spurs after their group victory against Inter, this draw may inspire them, again.
Arsenal V Barcelona… Interesting although likely a Barca win
arsenal v barca top draw come on gooners , sp*rs hav a nice tie, bayern v inter is interesting, benzema will want to shoot down lyon but how come chelsea always get it so easy
if we muck this up cesc WILL go
Prediction:
Man Utd – Win
Chelsea – Win
Spurs – Lose
Arsenal – Lose
Inter-Bayern Nice re-match of the final.
Ars-Barca Hope that Arsenal will win with a good revenge.
ACM- Tott’ham Bale gets injured by some italian tackle’s and Ibra will have a fight with Gallas.
So, what a GREAT Line-up!
Spurs will win over two legs as long as Bale is up for it.
COYS
ooooh valencia vs shcalke! ! ! ! . . . . . -_-
I can’t wait until Spurs barely get past AC Milan and Arsenal lose out to the best club in the world and all the Spurs fans start going off about how they are the better club.
milan are 7 time European champions
Of course Arsenal get shafted, and Chelsea get the easier game. I’m not counting anybody out but it looks grim. Good luck Barclay’s boys but it won’t be easy for you.
Predictions:
Roma: win 2-1
AC Milan: win 3-2 (OT)
Valencia: win 2-0
Inter Milan/Bayern Munich: rematch, too close to call
Real Madrid: win 3-1
Barcelona: win 3-0
Marseille: win 2-1
Chelsea: win 4-0
I dunno guys, Arsenal have been in fine form this season and Nasri is clearly turning into quite a player, Barcelona have a game and a half on their hands, Arsenal can even win this tie if Wenger can get them solid in defence, there are no easy ties in the champions league, for any team.
Having said that, I fully expect Milan to triumph over Spurs, Milan seem to have too much quality and experience for Spurs to pose a serious threat to them, Sprus have some great players sure, but Milan know how to win.
again and again..
real madrid vs lyon…
arsenal vs barcelona…
