Notts County say that they will not block Sol Campbell’s attempt to leave the club if he so desires.
Campbell in action for Portsmouth last season
The former Arsenal, Spurs and England defender is reported to have told the club that he wants to quit following his debut at Morecambe last weekend.
Campbell joined the Magpies last month on a 5 year deal, but it seems the move has gone disastrously wrong.
At the time, he said his decision to move down the league table was because of Sven-Goran Eriksson’s involvement with the club where he is director of football.
Upon arriving at the League Two side, Campbell said:
This club has got great ambition and I want to be a part of it.
Sven played a big role. He’s a great man. He’s managed all over the world and he knows his football, he’s a proper guy.
He’s seen the future. It’s a challenge but I think everyone connected to the club are prepared for that challenge. It’s refreshing.
Sven is a horrible coach.
