BOOT SPOTTING IN THE ENGLAND CAMP

When the new-look England head out onto the hallowed Wembley turf on Friday, we know that they’ll be wearing the new England Kit – but we’re going to take a look at what the squad has on their feet ahead of the clash with Bulgaria!

Wayne Rooney

Rooney’s going to have a point to prove in front of the home crowd on Friday, and is choosing to do so in K-Leather Nike T90 Laser III‘s.

This is an unusual choice for Wayne as he’s stuck with the synthetic models throughout the Laser III’s life-cycle, most recently the Challenge Red Lasers, so we can only guess that the Manchester United man was keen to match the White/Photo Blue version to the new England Kit!

Glen Johnson

Attacking full-back Glen Johnson is still sticking with the Lotto Zhero Leggenda Tre! Despite the FuerzaPura KL100 winning many fans in mainland Europe, Johnson is staying true to his boot of choice.

Darren Bent

As we reported last week, Darren Bent has switched out of the Umbro GT Pro and back into the Umbro Speciali.

It seems that the Sunderland striker is still sticking with the traditional football boots, and we’re guessing that he won’t be cajoled by Umbro back into the lightweight GT Pro.

Jolean Lescott

After missing out on the World Cup squad via injury, the versatile defender is sure to be thrilled to be stepping out for the Three Lions once again.

But when he does step on Friday, will he be doing so in these classic Laser T90 Laser II‘s? These White/Gold/Red versions were the last K-Leather version of these awesome football boots to be released, and easily one of the best!

Michael Carrick's Football Boots

Michael Carrick

Easily the most surprising spot of the England Line-up, Carrick is wearing a pair of Puma PowerCat 1.10‘s unlike anything we’ve seen before!

To the untrained eye, the Manchester United man is wearing his customary Red/Black/Silver PowerCat’s, but a look underneath shows that he’s had a Puma King XL’s sole attached to them!

We’re guessing this is for training at London Colney only, as the Wembley pitch forces most players into wearing SG football boots

Jermaine Defoe & Shaun Wright-Philips

Two of England’s paciest players have opted for the same pair of boots, in the same colourway!

Defoe & SWP have both been spotted in the Messi Chameleon version of the adidas F50 adiZero, with a leather upper – a choice that’s been hugely popular around the world since it stopped being inclusive to Lionel Messi.

Theo Walcott

Back in the squad and in blistering form at the start of the 2010-2011 season, Walcott will be looking to impress on Friday.

And if there’s a colourway to stand out in, it’s the new Cactus Superfly II!

Michael Dawson & Gary Cahill

England’s two underdog defenders both wear an underdog choice in football boots! The Umbro Stealth Pro has slowly started to make itself known in the English Premier League.

Interestingly, if Phil Jagielka were fit to train, the Stealth Pro would tie with the Nike Superfly II and the Nike CTR360 Maestri as joint ‘Most Popular Football Boots‘ in the England Camp – impressive!

England Fitness Coach

We’re not sure who he is, but we love his classic Mizuno Morelia‘s – now there’s a man with taste!

  • The guy in the Arsenal top is James Shea. He’s an Arsenal reserve goalie and got a surprise ‘call-up’ to the England squad on Tuesday. The Arsenal keeper was due to train with his Arsenal at London Colney but instead helped Fabio Capello and his players with their preparations for Friday’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria. England are using Colney as a training base ahead of the game but an injury to Fulham keeper David Stockdale left them short of numbers on Tue.
