Bolton 1-0 West Ham
Bolton Wanderers remain in the bottom three but they claimed three precious points with a hard fought home win over West Ham United who lost defender Anton Ferdinand early on with a hamstring injury.
Gary Megson’s side are now just 2 points behind Birmingham City after a lively afternoon at the Reebok Stadium.
It should have been an easier days work for Bolton who could have been three goals up at half time. Kevin Davies saw two headers cleared off the line and El-Hadji Diouf had a goal ruled out for off-side.
But Davies finally found a way through after the break, poking home his 100th career goal, after Jonathan Spector had impeded his own goalkeeper.
Dean Ashton had the visitors best chance but his over head kick was tipped on to the bar in a frantic second half.
