Blackburn 1-1 Man Utd
Tevez gets a late equaliser to earn Man Utd a point at Ewood Park.
Carlos Tevez rescued Manchester United a point at Ewood Park leaving them 3 points clear at the top, ahead of next week’s trip to Premier League title rivals Chelsea.
Roque Santa Cruz put Blackburn Rovers ahead on 21 minutes when Morten Gamst Pedersen’s throw in led to a mix-up between Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, leaving Santa Cruz to slide in his 20th goal of the season from just 12 yards.
Shortly after, David Bentley forced Kuszczak to save his 25-yard shot as Blackburn were growing in confidence after their goal.
United had to come out all guns blazing in the second half, but the Blackburn defence looked up to the task up until the 88th minute, when Tevez headed home from close range after Paul Scholes had flicked on Nani’s corner.
The result leaves United three points clear of title rivals Chelsea ahead of next week’s Stamford Bridge showdown.
