Birmingham 3-1 Man City
A brace from Mauro Zarate gave 10 man Birmingham the win at home to Manchester City.
Argentine striker Mauro Zarate, on loan from Al-Sadd of Qatar, opened the scoring for Birmingham 5 minutes before half-time, when he latched onto Queudrue’s throughball and lobbed over Hart.
Zarate got his third of the season and Birmingham’s second 10 minutes into the 2nd half. McSheffrey played Zarate in, he turned and rifled into the bottom corner.
Queudrue saw red after bringing down Benjani in the area and was subsequently sent off. Elano’s penalty gave the visitors hope, until Gary McSheffrey added a third from the spot after he was fouled by Sun Jihai.
