Just a day after sacking Paul Ince, Blackburn Rovers have moved quickly to appoint Sam Allardyce as their new manager.
Allardyce has been on the football sidelines since he was dismissed by Newcastle United back in January.
He joins a club second from bottom of the Premier League with just 3 wins from 17 league games. Indeed, their last win was against Big Sam’s former side Newcastle in late September.
Rovers had made it known that they were keen for the new man to be in charge for Saturday’s game against Stoke and when Graeme Souness ruled himself out of contention, Allardyce became the clear favourite.
Allardyce has signed a 3 year deal which was confirmed by a club statement which read:
Rovers are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager.
