Rafa Benitez has gone on an “all out attack” on Arsenal, and that’s before the whistle has blown!
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has started the Liverpool attack on Arsenal. The Spaniard has decided to go on the offensive in the run up to tonight’s Champions League quarter final second leg.
Benitez has spoken about Arsenal’s chances of claiming the Premier League crown and dispels the myth about Arsenal’s youngsters.
Rafa Benitez:
I believe this game (tonight) will be the most important if they want to win a trophy this season. It will be very difficult for Arsenal to win the Premier League. Before the game on Saturday they knew they had to win to stay in the title race.
Arsene changed five players but had to bring back his big players trying to win the game. With Manchester United drawing on Sunday there is still a slight chance. But I do not expect Arsenal to be thinking about the title now, just the Champions League.
Manuel Almunia is not young, Kolo Toure is not young. Neither is Aleksandr Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor is not an 18-year-old. Even when you look at Cesc Fabregas, he has played at the maximum level for four years.
Arsenal played a final two years ago and have been in the knockout stages before. It is easy to talk about young players but they have enough experience.
