David Beckham is still looking to make his loan move to AC Milan permanent despite the club failing to meet an MLS deadline to sign him last week.
The England international is due to return to LA Galaxy when his loan period expires on 9th March, but speaking after the weekend’s 2 – 1 defeat to city rivals Inter, Beckham said:
I know it will be difficult to go back after everything that’s happened.
I’ve said I want to stay at Milan and I haven’t changed my mind, but it’s out of my hands.
There will be more talks this week between the two clubs and hopefully, as I’ve said before, they can come to an agreement.
Milan have made it clear that they want me for the rest of the season and so on, so we’ll have to wait and see.
I hope things will go the way I want them to, of course. But if I have to go back, I will be professional, because that’s what I have to do.
Beckham was substituted in Sunday’s game after getting a kick on the calf. The defeat means they are 9 points behind leaders Inter.
