Fabio Capello has recalled David Beckham to the England squad for the friendly away to Spain on Wednesday.
After impressing during his recent loan spell at AC Milan, Beckham will now get the chance to equal Bobby Moore’s record of 108 outfield appearances.
Wayne Rooney wasn’t called up because of his hamstring injury while Emile Heskey, who was named in the 23, could miss out after picking up a knock during Aston Villa’s 2 – 0 win away to Blackburn.
New names to the full international scene are West Ham’s Carlton Cole and James Milner, one of 6 Villa players to make the cut.
