AS Roma & Google Team-Up to Present #ShoeSelfies

AS Roma and Google Debut Shoe Selfies

In one of football’s less likely partnerships, AS Roma have teamed up with Google to deliver an incredible amount of backstage access to one of their match-days – including some time in the spotlight for football boots!

Tonight’s massive clash with Juventus will see Google deliver a technology-fuelled feast of insights and features into what makes AS Roma tick on gameday. Live streams from the team bus on Youtube, fan generated photospheres and even a drone above the stadium are going in to this 360 experience to make it a potential insight into the future of sport broadcasting.

Of the most interest to us are the ‘Shoe Selfie’. Whilst, by definition, are probably not a ‘selfie’, this fun rotating camera shot allows a complete 360 degree view of a player’s football boots just before they head to the pitch.

AS Roma and Google Shoe Selfie

Set to be shared tonight just before the game, these #ShoeSelfies could be the next generation of boot spotting!

Tonight alone, Francesco Totti will be lacing up his new Tiempo Legend V Premium for the first time, and Radja Nainggolan will be wearing rainbow laces in support of gay rights.

Head to google.com/+ASRoma to check them out tonight as they go up live ahead of the game, or check back tomorrow as we might be sharing some of the best Shoe Selfies from the evening.
