Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien says Arsenal’s approach to winning the Premier League title is just plain wrong.
The Ghanian international, who is recovering from a knee injury suffered in a World Cup qualifier back in September, was speaking to the BBC’s Inside Sport programme and argued that the Gunner’s brand of football doesn’t produce enough results saying:
Arsenal is one of those teams that just plays beautiful football, but they don’t get the points they want to.
To play beautiful football without points, is I don’t think, worth it.
To be rough and get three points, or play well and get three points – win ugly or beautifully – I don’t care.
Arsenal’s last trophy of any description came back in 2005 when they beat Manchester United to win the FA Cup.
