Arsenal have joined the hunt for Brazilian born Amauri, a striker currently playing for Palermo in the Serie A.
Amauri Carvalho de Oliveira, being Brazilian is known simply as Amauri, has played in Italy for several years now and has recently applied for an Italian passport. This would mean he could play for Italy, but more importantly will mean he can play in the Premier League without the need for a work permit. A development which has alerted Arsenal and Liverpool to the striker.
It was widely thought that Amauri would be moving to Juventus, as the Juve chairman has openly expressed the desire to sign him. However Amauri’s agent has said that Arsenal have joined a list of clubs interested in the player.
Mariano Grimaldi (Amauri’s agent):
Arsenal is now another team added to the list of teams interested in Amauri.
We have already received proposals from Liverpool and Real Madrid, in addition to what we already had from Juventus.
