Andrea Dossena has left Liverpool for Italian side Napoli.
The defender has signed a four-year contract which runs to the end of the 2013 – 2014 season. He could make his debut on Sunday in the home game against Sampdoria.
Napoli are currently fourth in Serie A, twelve points behind pace-setters Inter Milan but just four off second place AC Milan.
Dossena joined the Merseysiude club from Udinese in 2008 for £7 million but he’s made just 30 appearances, scoring twice.
Quoted on Napoli’s web site, Dossena said:
I am happy to be able to wear the Napoli shirt. I have chosen a place of great prestige with big plans.
I can’t wait for the time to play at the San Paolo in front of an extraordinary public.
Another Liverpool player possibly on the move is striker Andriy Voronin. The Ukrainian has been at Anfield since 2007 but has scored on just 5 occasions. He’s set for a £2 million switch to Dynamo Moscow.
