Arsenal were dumped out of the Champions League last night by PSV Eindhoven, the Brazilian Alex, scored both goals in the 1 – 1 draw at the Emirates.
Arsenal were given hope when Alex, the Brazilian on loan from Chelsea, deflected Denilson’s corner into his own net on the 57th minute, but Arsenal squandered a series of chances, so typical of them this season. Alex then nodded the crucial equaliser from a free kick in the 82nd minute.
If the fact that Arsenal will cannot win a trophy this season is not enough, Arsenal are now likely to face several weeks without their captain Thierry Henry, after he suffered a stomach and groin injury.
