After a succession of reasonably bright and breezy adiPure IV colourways, adidas are appropriately back to business for the business end of the season with some more classic colourways for their retro-style football boots, including these adiPure IV Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold!
Far and away one of the classiest football boots we’ve seen from any brand in a long time, we think adidas have struck a great balance with adiPure IV Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold.
The more we look at these adiPure IV’s, the more we find to like about them. Rather than the slightly-gaudy white/gold we see on so many football boots, adidas designers have used Black on the sockliner and tongue to add a sense of balance, not to mention give the adiPure IV Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold a really retro-cool feel.
The normally-chrome branding on the sole has also received a gold-makeover, giving a these football boots the appearance of a special or limited edition that belies their general release status.
We reckon these are one of the few pairs of football boots that look effortlessly cool with any football kit too – whether it’s someone like Frank Lampard whose Chelsea kits are always contrasting to white soccer cleats. Or Kaká, whose Real Madrid home kit is an instant match for the adiPure IV Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold.
One thing that the photos really don’t do justice is the shimmer of the Zero Metallic colouring on the upper of these football boots. Whilst subtle, this slightly pearlescent sheen really tops off the adiPure IV Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold‘s exceptionally classy appearence.
We’re not sure how long it’d last after a couple of cleans, though!
Whilst we’ve been constantly thrilled with the colourways that adidas has gifted the adiPure IV, (especially the stealthy new black-outs!), we think that Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold may well be the best yet, and can’t wait to see what the bods in Germany come up to top it!
The adiPure IV Zero Metallic/Black/Matte Gold is due to open on Pre-orders this week, before being available in shops and online come June 1st 2011 for the handsome sum of £119.99/$153.99.
