After giving the world a sneak-preview via his Facebook page last week, we can now give you all the details and pictures on David Beckham’s new football boots – the adidas adiPower Predator DB – Blue / White / Electicity
After a (sorry, Becks!) incredibly gaudy Gold/Red pair of signature adiPowers, adidas are outfitting one of their most prolific Predator-wearers ever with a brand-new signature pair of football boots, as adidas prepare to unleash the new adidas adiPower Predator DB – Blue / White / Electicity.
Certainly looking bold in adidas’ now-customary ‘electricity’ and a contrasting smart navy blue, we reckon the new' adidas adiPower Predator DB – Blue / White / Electicity is definitely one of the best DB signature colourways to hit a Predator yet!
Unlike the rest of the top-level adiPowers, the' adidas adiPower Predator DB – Blue / White / Electicity continues the Beckham tradition of having synthetic upper, ditching the Taurus leather of the ‘regular’ models.
As well as being more sustainable, this actually makes these football boots lighter than the rest of the adiPower range (with the exception of the Predator SL), shaving around 15g off the overall weight.
Interestingly, the' adidas adiPower Predator DB – Blue / White / Electicity also marks the first time the new ‘David Beckham’ logo is being used on a pair of football boots.
The famous ‘Free-Kick’ icon that has been used on such classic Predators as the Pulse, Absolute, PowerSwerve and Predator_X now looks to have been retired, in favour of the new ‘David Beckham’ test logo, with a football-shaped chunk taken out of it.
Becks gave his new football boots their debut in the first leg of their MLS play-offs against the New York Red Bulls, claiming an assist for Mike Magee’s first-half winner, and was a constant threat firing raking long-balls from the midfield.
Bonus picture, Becks also took the time after the match to catch up with Neymar – the Santos wonder-kid who has said he wants to be the Brazilian Beckham – though as nicer guy as we’re sure Mr. Beckham is, we’re almost positive he didn’t appreciate Neymar’s choice of scarf!
The new' adidas adiPower Predator DB – Blue / White / Electicity will be available to order from early January, with an RRP of £155/$230.
