Adidas TUNiT II Football Boot Technical Details

Adidas TUNiT II Football Boot

Adidas TUNiT II Football BootAdidas has released further details of the TUNiT II football boot, which builds on the successes of the TUNiT 1, the world’s first fully customisable football boot. The TUNiT II, which we first reported to you way back in November 2006 (Read the TUNiT 2 story), will be available to buy in April, so as expected, Adidas have ramped up the media exposure by releasing further technical details and images.

The Adidas TUNiT II football boot is also known as the TUNiT 2 and comes with an updated and sharper design than its forerunner, producing an elegant football boot whose styling is more pleasing to the eye than some recent new football boots that appear to be designed to shock. Aesthetic judgments apart, it is in the technical features where the football boot claims to be distinctive, innovative and exciting.

Techie Low-down on the TUNiT II

Upper: The upper is the main body of the shoe and will be available in two types: adiwave or ClimaCool:

Adiwave: a performance synthetic that is both lightweight and super durable – leading to a low maintenance, high performance upper. adiwave is a new technology and replaces adihex, which was used in the original Adidas +F50 TUNiT – adiwave is a lighter, more durable synthetic. The more you play in adiwave, the more it softens, giving you superior comfort and fantastic control.

ClimaCool: The ClimaCool version is made from adiwave/mesh with ventilation cut-outs offering a 360 degree cooling effect.

Chassis: The chassis is a triple density TPU sockliner. The chassis holds the receptacles for the studs and stabilises the upper. The chassis will be available in comfort, lightweight or orthotic versions – enabling you to customise the boot to match the playing conditions as well as your individual style.

Studs: Three sets of studs will also be available – hard ground, firm ground or soft ground. The studs can also be mixed to suit your style of play

The TUNiT is seen by Adidas as the flagship product in the hugely successful F50 range of football boots and sportswear, but ultimately it will be the player performances on the pitch that will judge and rate the TUNiT II. As soon as we get our hands on a pair of the footy boot, we’ll bring you a full report on how good the TUNiT II really is!.
