After unveiling their plans to have the MLS host the world’s first ‘Smart Soccer’ match last month, adidas have confirmed that this year’s MLS All-Stars game will be entirely miCoach powered.

In this new ad for the miCoach system, Brek Shea of FC Dallas, Javier Morales of Real Salt Lake, Teal Bunbury of Sporting KC and Darlington Nagbe of the Portland Timbers star in the :30 commercial showcasing the adidas micoach SPEED_CELL, which captures 360-degree movement and measures performance metrics during practice or gameplay.

The chip’s unique on-board memory stores up to seven hours of data, wirelessly syncs with the user’s smartphone and uploads performance stats that can be shared through Facebook and Twitter.

The next generation of adidas micoach technology will debut at the 2012 AT&T MLS All-Star Game on July 25 in Philadelphia as MLS All-Stars v Chelsea FC will be the world’s first “smart soccer match” and will feature the new adidas micoach professional soccer team tracking system.

Looking forward to seeing miCoach rolled out to a full team? Interested in the logistics of having players sponsored by other companies?
