adidas continue their ‘Revenge Instinct‘ series of football boots with a remake of one of our audience’s favourite Predators ever; the adidas Predator Instinct Accelerator.
Fond memories of these football boots will no doubt have some of our audience in a nostalgia overload, as incredible goals and feats of athleticism were carried out in the original Predator Accelerator in 1998.
Despite there being no shortage of stars – especially at the World Cup in 1998 – the Predator Accelerator is undoubtedly most closely linked with France legend Zinedine Zidane.
With an incredible first touch, deft skill and a penchant for ludicrous goals, Zizou might closely embody the traits of not just the Predator Accelerator, but also the Predator range as a whole.
It’s no surprise to see the former Real Madrid and Juventus man return to help push the adidas Predator Instinct Accelerator remakes.
Many of the boot’s signature design cues have been lovingly recreated on this new model. The Predator panels retain their original shape on the toes, as are the bold three stripes up the flank of the boot.
The ‘adidas Equipment’ call-out on the heel is a nice throwback, but we’re most pleased to see the translucent soleplate honoured.
Part of the ‘Feet You Wear’ cross-category technology, the Accelerator boasted a strange red chassis (that quickly went an orange-y flesh colour after a few wears) and is probably one of the most fondly-remembered features of the Accelerator
As with last week’s ’94, the adidas Predator Instinct Accelerator will release in limited quantities as of today, so get going if you fancy a pair.
Otherwise, what else do you like about these remakes?
