The new adidas F50 adiZero has landed, bringing with it a new benchmark in what we come to expect from football boots!
But what use is building a ‘boot with a brain’ if no-one can see it? That’s where the incredible adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity colourway comes in!
Thanks to a surprise debut in Bangladesh earlier in the month we already know that these football boots look incredible on the pitch, sticking out like a sore thumb on the feet of any player wearing them!
adidas have recently turned their hi-viz ‘Electricity’ colour into something of a signature hue for themselves, having featured on just about all of their football boots silos in the past 9 months or so.
And it’s certainly back with a vengeance here on the adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity, cradling the Red ‘High Energy’ that covers the majority of these football boots with alarming effectiveness.
The studs of the adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity are also tipped with the yellow Electricity, meaning they’re likely the last things your opponents will see as you leave them chewing turf!
The contrast of the Yellow and Red on the forefoot of the adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity really highlights the prism-like structure of the new SprintWeb across the toes, which is designed to offer more grip on the ball when dribbling at speed, as well as boosting durability.
Whereas the launch adiZero (way back in last year’s World Cup!) were kept very minimal in the design department, the new adiZero is highly stylised, with the ‘F’ in ‘F50’ definitely standing for ‘futuristic!’.
But it’s not all aesthetic; several of the new design tweaks have been made specifically to improve the adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity‘s performance and comfort.
For instance, the new heel counter is completely re-enforced, with the aim of improving protection and stability of the Achilles’ tendon and heel, and the collar has been re-shaped to offer comfort to players who previously complained about the rubbing the old adiZero could sometimes cause in that area.
After Messi’s initial debut of the adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity against Nigeria, we found a distinct trend of people referring to them as the football boots Ronald McDonald, might wear – but we think they’ve got far more in common with supersonic superhero The Flash!
What do you think of the adidas F50 adiZero – High Energy/White/Electricity?
