birminghamBirmingham look poised to extend the loan deal for Mauro Zarate.

21 year old Argentine striker Mauro Zarate is currently on loan at the Blues, but his current loan deal runs out at the end of the season.

Following a brace of goals at the weekend, Birmingham 3-1 Man City, Zarate’s agent is looking to push a deal forward.

Birmingham may feel that his price tag will prevent a permanent deal. Zarate is owned by Al-Sadd in Qatar and would want to recoup at least the £10 million they spent on the forward. So a loan deal is being looked at.

If Birmingham do not move quickly Zarate’s agent believes other clubs may come in for the promising youngster.

Zarate Agent;

Zarate Birmingham Mauro has captured the attention of other clubs as people can see he will be a top, top player.

The Qataris want more than they paid for him but another loan deal might be possible.

It is not easy but Birmingham have priority as they have given Mauro a chance and he is comfortable with the manager Alex McLeish.
