Arsene Wenger, believes his side will get the result they need to progress in the second leg at Anfield next Tuesday.

Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates last night, ARSENAL 1-1 LIVERPOOL, after Dirk Kuyt grabbed a crucial away goal. Even in the knowledge that Liverpool are a formidable team to beat at home in the Champions League, Arsene Wenger feels confident his gunners can get the result they need to progress to the semi finals.

It is difficult to understand how we did not win the game, because we had a lot of possession and a lot of chances. The game was played in one half in the second period and it was difficult because Liverpool defended well.

It will be a test for us, but we have the desire to do it, We were a bit unlucky with a big decision of the referee on the penalty. It’s difficult to take, but we have to swallow it.

Arsenal meet Liverpool again on Saturday with an early afternoon kick off at the Emirates, before going to Anfield on Tuesday for the second leg of the Champions League quarter final tie.
