Umbro X Boot III, the ’strikers’ football boot.

X_Boot_III_cutout_450.jpgFollowing on from the launch of the X Boot Destroyer, a football boot designed for the defensive player, Umbro also launched the X Boot III with this football boot focusing on the more attacking player, who are more reliant and dependent on first touch, speed and instant response.

The innovatively designed X Boot III features Umbro’s advanced speed fit, touch control enhanced upper and lightweight wishbone technology - all with Michelin performance for that extra turn of pace and reaction. The X Boot III features prominent England colourways of White, Red and Blue and is endorsed by England’s Michael Owen, currently recovering after having sustained a knee injury in the World Cup 2006.

Performance: The new football boot from Umbro uses a lightweight material and Exo-Skeleton frame for extra responsiveness, speed and stability. Motion Control technology enhances movement and provides superior stability.

Owen-Eng-Kit-450.pngComfort: Touch Control technology with the combination of kangaroo suede and Michelin’s advanced grip system, allows for improved comfort, feel and grip. The titanium wishbone component and glass fibre rigidity provide the strength and stability required and added protection for the metatarsal. Lateral and medial strap fitments also improve comfort and aid motion control.

Players: Michael Owen

Price: £90

Verdict: The fusion of lightweight materials, advanced speed technology and touch control with the strength of titanium has produced the new Umbro X Boot III, above all designed for the attacking footballer. Can the new technology and design deliver more goals? Umbro think so - we’ll wait and see until we’ve seen the football boot in action for ourselves on Wednesday night.

  • matt Says:

GREAT LOOKING, COMFORTABLE AND DO APPEAR TO HELP WITH FIRST TOUCH CONTROL DUE TO THE INSTEP MATERIAL. DOWNSIDE?? I HAVE THESE IN STUDS AND MOLDS, THE STUDS ARE AWESOME, THE MOLDS TOO, BUT THE LENGTH OF THE RUBBERS ARE QUITE LONG., ON POOR HARD PITCHES COULD CAUSE BLISTERS, HOWEVER WELL WORTH A 9/10
