READING 0 – 1 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Reading badge Reading 0 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham badge

Reading’s dreadful run continued this afternoon as they were beaten by Spurs and now their Premier League survival is out of their own hands.

With Fulham winning, Reading are now third from bottom and will have to grab a point at the very least in their final game against relegated Derby and hope other results go their way to stand any chance of staying up.

The Royals, who haven’t scored in 6 league games, were undone by the Spurs captain Robbie Keane who scored a delightful goal on 17 minutes after excellent work by Darren Bent.

And it could have been a lot worse for Reading – Steed Malbranque had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside while Bent hit the post with 15 minutes remaining.

For the home team, Dave Kitson and Liam Rosenior both forced fabulous saves from Radek Cerny in a tense finale but it wasn’t enough for Reading who now face a tense final day of the season in 8 days time.
