Fulham maintain Premier League status with a win at Portsmouth.

Danny Murphy’s late header at Fratton Park was enough to secure Fulham’s place in the top flight for next season. Their victory sent Reading and Birmingham down to the Championship.

Fulham had the first chance of the game when Paul Stalteri found Simon Davies with a cross, but his shot went just wide.

Meanwhile Arsenal target, Niko Kranjcar swapped passes with former Arsenal striker Kanu before firing a 20 yard right-foot shot from over the bar.

Fulham piled on the pressure in the second half but looked like they would be frustrated until Danny Murphy nodded home on 76 minutes to keep Fulham up.
