Manchester United Midfielder to Swing and Slide with Nike until 2019

Following on from our story this week (Read the Story), we now have confirmation that Manchester United powerhouse Park Ji-Sung has signed with Nike, extending his current contract until 2019, giving him effectively a whopping 12 year deal!

“Nike has renewed its contract with Park,” a spokeswoman for Nike Sports Korea said, adding “Park merits our sponsorship in light of his achievement and influence in the world of football.”

Money details, as always for football boot contracts, have not been confirmed, but figures range from £3 million to £6 million for the life of the contract.

Our verdict: a great, shrewd signing for Nike, which sees it enforce its position in the Far East - and a nice little earner for Park too!
