Owen Hargreaves was born in Canada. At the age of 16 he moved to Munich, Germany. With British parents, Owen Hargreaves was eligible to play International football for any of the Home Nations, Canada and was close to being eligible to play for Germany, had he not selected to play Internationally for England.

Hargreaves is currently in Dubai in a mid season training camp, but he is still recovering from a broken leg, which occurred in September. He is likely to resume full training in two weeks.
