Bolton Wanderers climbed out of the relegation zone and up to 5th from bottom after an away win at Middlesbrough.

Gavin McCann’s 60th minute goal secured all three points as Bolton successfully followed up last weeks win against West Ham.

McCann smashed the ball home from six yards out after Middlesbrough keeper Ross Turnball had superbly kept out Gary Cahill’s close-range header.

Minutes earlier Bolton striker Grzegorz Rasiak had hit the bar with Matt Taylor also volleying against the post.

Boro’s had started brightly and forced several fine saves from the impressive Ali Al Habsi in the Bolton goal.
