Arsenal’s Nose Put Out of Joint

Spurs fired 5 past Arsenal to reach the Carling Cup Final last night. Tottenham outclassed and outfought their North London rivals. Wenger had this to say “The score is very high and very brutal but I think it does not reflect what happened on the pitch.” It seems that Arsene missed quite a lot of the action in this game, he also claims to have missed Adebayor and Bendtner having a go at one another. The altercation ended with Bendtner nursing a bloody nose. link

George Burley looks on his way from Southampton to Scotland. Burley is set to become the new Scotland manager, provided Scotland come up with an appropriate compensation package for Southampton. link

Liverpool look set to lose two key midfielders to Italy. Mascherano and Sissoko could both be on their way to Juventus. Sissoko’s deal is more or less done and Mascherano’s controversial loan deal is likely to be too expensive for Liverpool to agree to. link

Micah Richards has reportedly turned down the offer of a move to Newcastle. KK was hoping to make the young England player his first signing but Richards looks to be staying at Manchester City. link

African Cup of Nations

Zambia predictably took all the points against Sudan, although the 3-0 scoreline flattered Zambia. Holders Egypt beat fancied Cameroon 4-2. Although Barca’s Eto’o netted twice, he was overshadowed by the highly rated Mohamed Zidan of Egypt and Hamburg.
