The USA produced the shock result of the weekend by beating Egypt 3 – 0 and progressing to the semi finals of the Confederations Cup but it was a devastating burst of three goals in eight minutes which caught our eye at Footy Boots and sees Brazil striker Luis Fabiano pick up this week’s award.

Not only did Fabiano score 2 of Brazil’s quick fire goals but the result put the 2006 World Cup winners out of the tournament.

Fabiano also scored versus Egypt and played in the 3 - 0 win over the USA

A former adidas F50 user, now a firm favourite with the Nike Mercurial range, Fabiano put Brazil ahead on 37 minutes when he found the corner of the net from 12 yards out having been played onside by Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro.

Two minutes before the break the 51,000 strong crowd were treated to another Fabiano strike as the Sevilla player chipped the ball over the oncoming Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon from close range.

And before the Italian’s could regroup at half time an Andrea Dossena own goal saw them go in to the dressing room 3 – 0 down.

With news of the Egypt v USA result filtering through, the Italian’s knew that even a 3 – 1 defeat would be good enough to put them in to the last four but despite their best efforts in the second half, the Brazilian shot-stopper Juilo Cesar was rarely troubled.

With three wins from three, Brazil will now meet hosts South Africa in the last four with Spain going up against the USA.
