Hernan Crespo Umbro Football Boots

Hernan Crespo Umbro X Boot IIIUmbro have revealed a new signing into their brand of football boots, Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo. Eagle-eyed football boot fans will have seen Crespo switch to Umbro from his favoured Adidas Predator football boots, and the signing is a major scalp for English based football boot maker. Crespo is wearing the Umbro X Boot III football boot, the football boot worn by Micheal Owen, which has been immediately successful for him as he bagged a hat-trick against rivals Lazio over the weekend.

Umbro Italy have signed the Argentine and Inter Milan forward Hernan Crespo on a two year deal from season 2007/2008, and can we can expect to see the long haired striker feature in Umbro promotions as they attempt to conquer the all-important Serie A league.

Crespo Switches From Adidas to Umbro Football Boots

The move is an interesting one, as we are not accustomed to seeing players move away from the big two of Adidas and Nike, and it is not clear as to whether the reasons were financial or otherwise - Umbro are renowned for the comfort of their football boots and maybe this proved an attractive factor for the player. Umbro Italy recently signed up two Serie A teams, Cagliari and AC Siena from next season, which indicates they are serious about positioning themselves as a major force in the Italian league, with perhaps hopes of regaining its former glories of bygone days.

Hernan Crespo is currently at loan at the new Italian Champions Inter Milan, and his run of recent form could see the spell ending with a return to Chelsea, possibly in a swap with an outgoing Shevchenko, even though the reclusive Crespo has made it clear he would prefer to stay in the blue of Inter rather than a return to Chelsea blue.

Umbro X Boot III Football Boots

Umbro X Boot III Football BootCrespo joins John Terry, Micheal Owen and Deco in the Umbro football boot stable, wearing, for now, the Umbro X Boot III, a football boot designed for the striker, which uses Michelin technology for improved touch and control. Only time will tell whether Crespo is forced into a return into the Premiership alongside Terry, or remains in Serie A where his X Boots are less well-known.

Interesting that they’ve cut off the tab at the top of the heel around the ankle. The only other boot I can think of are the old early 90 asics that Waddle and Becks wore for a while (pre adidas). Are there any others?

I like these Umbro boots. Sure Crespo is getting a lot of money for the change!

Yes, Mark, probably there is a lot of money involved! I like these football boots better, though.
