Champions League logoAlthough the 16 qualifiers going in to the next round of the Champions League were known before last night’s final round of group matches, their relative positions were not.

So after Manchester United’s draw with Aalborg, Celtic’s win over Villareal plus Arsenal’s 2 – 0 loss away to Porto along with all the other results, here’s who’s going through as group winners, runners-up plus the full list of teams whose European adventure will now continue only in the Uefa Cup.

Eight group winners.

Roma, Panathinaikos, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Porto and Juventus.

Eight group runners up.

Chelsea, Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Lyon, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Eight third-place teams now in the Uefa Cup.

Bordeaux, Werder Bremen, Shakhtar Donetsk, Marseille, Aalborg, Fiorentina, Dynamo Kiev and defending champions Zenit St Petersburg
